Ingredients

  • Ground beef (80/20) - 500 grams
  • Soy sauce - 30 ml
  • Brown sugar - 15 grams
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 10 ml
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Tomato (sliced) - 1 medium
  • Red onion (sliced) - 1/2 small
  • Gochujang - 15 grams
  • Mayonnaise - 30 grams
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the ground beef, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and black pepper. Mix well until the ingredients are fully incorporated.
  2. Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
  3. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. While the burgers are cooking, mix the gochujang with mayonnaise in a small bowl to create the gochujang mayo.
  5. Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the cooked patty, tomato slice, and red onion slices.
  7. Spread the gochujang mayo on the top half of the buns and sprinkle with sesame seeds before placing them on the assembled burgers.
  8. Serve the Galbi Burgers immediately with your choice of side.
