Ingredients
- Ground beef (80/20) - 500 grams
- Soy sauce - 30 ml
- Brown sugar - 15 grams
- Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
- Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
- Sesame oil - 10 ml
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Burger buns - 2
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Tomato (sliced) - 1 medium
- Red onion (sliced) - 1/2 small
- Gochujang - 15 grams
- Mayonnaise - 30 grams
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the ground beef, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and black pepper. Mix well until the ingredients are fully incorporated.
- Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- While the burgers are cooking, mix the gochujang with mayonnaise in a small bowl to create the gochujang mayo.
- Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the cooked patty, tomato slice, and red onion slices.
- Spread the gochujang mayo on the top half of the buns and sprinkle with sesame seeds before placing them on the assembled burgers.
- Serve the Galbi Burgers immediately with your choice of side.
