Ingredients

  • Beef short ribs - 500 grams
  • Soy sauce (gluten-free) - 60 ml
  • Brown sugar - 30 grams
  • Garlic, minced - 4 cloves
  • Ginger, grated - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onions, chopped - 2 stalks
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 120 ml

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix the gluten-free soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, chopped green onions, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Place the beef short ribs in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the short ribs from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off. Reserve the marinade for basting.
  5. Grill the short ribs for about 5-7 minutes on each side, basting with the reserved marinade, until they are nicely charred and cooked to your desired doneness.
  6. Remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
  7. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the grilled ribs and serve with steamed rice and kimchi for a complete meal.
