Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Water - 100 milliliters
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Begin by pressing the firm tofu to remove excess moisture. Wrap it in a clean kitchen towel and place a weight on top for about 10 minutes.
  2. After pressing, cut the tofu into 1 cm thick slices.
  3. In a non-stick skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Carefully add the tofu slices to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, red pepper flakes, and water. Pour this mixture over the browned tofu.
  6. Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes, allowing the tofu to absorb the flavors.
  7. Sprinkle chopped green onions and sesame seeds over the tofu before serving.
