Ingredients
- Firm tofu - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Water - 120 milliliters
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Red chili flakes - 1 teaspoon (optional)
Steps
- Begin by pressing the firm tofu to remove excess moisture. Wrap the tofu in a clean kitchen towel and place a heavy object on top for about 10 minutes.
- While the tofu is being pressed, prepare the sauce by mixing soy sauce, water, sesame oil, brown sugar, and minced garlic in a small bowl. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- After pressing, cut the tofu into 1.5 cm cubes.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the tofu cubes. Cook for about 5 minutes until they are lightly browned on one side.
- Gently flip the tofu cubes and pour the sauce over them, then add chopped green onion and red chili flakes if using.
- Reduce the heat to low and cover the skillet. Simmer for 10-12 minutes, allowing the tofu to absorb the flavors of the sauce.
- Once done, remove the lid and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to thicken the sauce, stirring gently.
- Transfer the Dubu-jorim to a serving plate and sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving.
