Ingredients

  • Rice cakes (tteok) - 200g
  • Beef (brisket or sirloin) - 150g, sliced thinly
  • Eggs - 2, beaten
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Beef broth or water - 1 liter
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Spinach - 100g, blanched
  • Carrot - 1, julienned

Steps

  1. In a pot, bring the beef broth or water to a boil, then add the sliced beef and minced garlic. Cook for about 10 minutes until the beef is tender.
  2. Add the rice cakes to the pot and simmer for another 5 minutes, allowing them to soften.
  3. Stir in the soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper to taste.
  4. In a separate pan, scramble the beaten eggs until fully cooked, then set aside.
  5. Add the blanched spinach and julienned carrot to the pot, cooking for an additional 3 minutes.
  6. To serve, ladle the soup into bowls, top with scrambled eggs and chopped green onions.
