- Rice cakes (tteok) - 200g
- Beef (brisket or sirloin) - 150g, sliced thinly
- Eggs - 2, beaten
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Beef broth or water - 1 liter
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Spinach - 100g, blanched
- Carrot - 1, julienned
Steps
- In a pot, bring the beef broth or water to a boil, then add the sliced beef and minced garlic. Cook for about 10 minutes until the beef is tender.
- Add the rice cakes to the pot and simmer for another 5 minutes, allowing them to soften.
- Stir in the soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper to taste.
- In a separate pan, scramble the beaten eggs until fully cooked, then set aside.
- Add the blanched spinach and julienned carrot to the pot, cooking for an additional 3 minutes.
- To serve, ladle the soup into bowls, top with scrambled eggs and chopped green onions.
