- Shallots (sliced) - 1 medium
- Carrot (julienned) - 1 small
- Spinach - 100 grams
- Green onion (chopped) - 2 stalks
- Red chili pepper (sliced) - 1 (optional)
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon

Steps
- In a large pot, bring the vegetable broth to a simmer over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sliced shallots to the pot and sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in the julienned carrot and cook for another 3-5 minutes until slightly tender.
- Add the ddeok (rice cakes) to the pot and cook for about 5 minutes until they soften.
- Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti or linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Once the ddeok is soft, add the spinach and soy sauce, stirring until the spinach wilts.
- Incorporate the cooked pasta into the pot and drizzle with sesame oil, mixing well to combine.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. If desired, add sliced red chili pepper for some heat.
- Serve the dish hot, garnished with chopped green onion and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
