Ingredients

  • Granulated sugar - 100 grams
  • Baking soda - 1/8 teaspoon
  • Water - 1 tablespoon
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon (for dusting)

Steps

  1. In a small, non-stick saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and water over medium heat.
  2. Stir the mixture gently until the sugar completely dissolves.
  3. Continue to cook without stirring until the mixture turns a golden amber color, approximately 3-5 minutes.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and immediately add the baking soda, stirring quickly until the mixture bubbles and expands.
  5. Using a whisk or a spatula, beat the mixture for about 30 seconds until it becomes light and airy.
  6. Prepare a flat surface by dusting it with cornstarch to prevent sticking.
  7. Pour the whipped candy mixture onto the prepared surface and flatten it gently with a spatula to about 1 cm thick.
  8. Allow the candy to cool slightly, then use a cookie cutter or mold to create shapes, if desired.
  9. Let the Dalgona Candy cool completely before serving.
