- Onion - 1 medium, sliced
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Honey - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Water - 300 milliliters
- Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (optional)
Steps
- In a large pot, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and ginger, sautéing until fragrant.
- Add the sliced onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the chicken thighs and cook until they are lightly browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour in the soy sauce, honey, and water. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
- Add the sliced carrot and cubed potato to the pot. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover.
- Simmer for about 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.
- Season with black pepper and adjust the sweetness if necessary by adding more honey.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
