Ingredients

  • Pork shoulder (cubed) - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce (halal) - 50 ml
  • Gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes) - 1 tablespoon
  • Honey - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic (minced) - 3 cloves
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onions (chopped) - 2 stalks
  • Water - 200 ml
  • Carrot (sliced) - 1 medium
  • Potato (cubed) - 1 medium

Steps

  1. In a large pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Add the cubed pork shoulder to the pot and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the soy sauce, gochugaru, honey, and water. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Add the sliced carrot and cubed potato to the pot. Cover and cook for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Once the pork and vegetables are tender, uncover and let the sauce reduce for an additional 5 minutes. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
