Ingredients

  • Pork ribs - 600 grams
  • Soy sauce - 4 tablespoons
  • Brown sugar - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Gochujang (Korean red chili paste) - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic (minced) - 3 cloves
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions (chopped) - 2 stalks
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable oil - for grilling

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, gochujang, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and half of the chopped green onions to create the marinade.
  2. Place the pork ribs in a large zip-lock bag or dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well-coated. Seal and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for more flavor.
  3. Preheat your grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly grease it with vegetable oil.
  4. Remove the ribs from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off. Reserve the marinade for basting.
  5. Grill the ribs for about 5-7 minutes on each side, basting with the reserved marinade occasionally, until they are cooked through and have a nice char.
  6. Once cooked, remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  7. Garnish with remaining chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving. Enjoy your Daeji Galbi with steamed rice or kimchi!
