Ingredients
- Pork shoulder (thinly sliced) - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Gochujang (Korean red chili paste) - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
- Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
- Rice (uncooked) - 1 cup
- Water - 2 cups
- Carrot (julienned) - 1 small
- Bell pepper (sliced) - 1 small
- Green onion (chopped) - 2 stalks
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, gochujang, sesame oil, sugar, garlic, and ginger to create the marinade.
- Add the sliced pork to the marinade, ensuring it is well coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- While the pork is marinating, rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. In a medium pot, combine the rice and water, then bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes or until the water is absorbed.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated pork and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pork is cooked through and slightly caramelized.
- Add the julienned carrot and sliced bell pepper to the skillet, and stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
- Once the rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork and divide it between two bowls. Top the rice with the cooked Daeji Bulgogi mixture.
- Garnish with chopped green onion and sesame seeds before serving.
