Ingredients
- Pork shoulder - 300 grams
- Soy sauce (or coconut aminos for Paleo) - 3 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Honey (or a sugar substitute) - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
- Ginger, minced - 1 teaspoon
- Gochujang (Korean chili paste) - 1 tablespoon
- Green onion, chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Lettuce leaves (butter or romaine) - 4 large leaves
- Carrot, julienned - 1 medium
- Cucumber, thinly sliced - 1 medium
- Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- 1. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, minced garlic, minced ginger, gochujang, and chopped green onion to make the marinade.
- 2. Cut the pork shoulder into thin strips and add them to the marinade, ensuring they're well coated. Allow to marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- 3. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated pork strips and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until cooked through and slightly caramelized.
- 4. While the pork is cooking, prepare the vegetable toppings by julienning the carrot and slicing the cucumber.
- 5. Once the pork is cooked, season with salt and black pepper to taste, and remove from heat.
- 6. To assemble the burgers, take a lettuce leaf, add a generous portion of the cooked pork, and top with julienned carrots, cucumber slices, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
- 7. Serve immediately and enjoy your Daeji Bulgogi Burger!
