- Mackerel fillets - 300 grams
- Water - 500 ml

- Ginger (sliced) - 1 tablespoon
- Green onions (chopped) - 2 stalks
- Carrot (sliced) - 1 medium
- Potato (cubed) - 1 medium
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
Steps
- In a large pot, combine water, soy sauce, gochujang, brown sugar, minced garlic, sliced ginger, and black pepper. Stir well to make the sauce.
- Add the mackerel fillets to the pot and bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and add the sliced carrot and cubed potato. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
- Uncover the pot and gently stir the ingredients, ensuring the mackerel is coated with the sauce.
- Add the chopped green onions and drizzle with sesame oil. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Serve hot with steamed rice and enjoy your Dae-gu-jjim.
