Ingredients

  • Chicken thighs - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 60 ml
  • Water - 200 ml
  • Honey - 1 tablespoon (15 grams)
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon (15 ml)
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (optional)

Steps

  1. In a medium pot, combine soy sauce, water, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper. Stir well to mix.
  2. Add the chicken thighs to the pot, ensuring they are submerged in the sauce. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 30 minutes, turning the chicken halfway through.
  4. After 30 minutes, remove the lid and increase the heat to medium-high. Allow the sauce to reduce for an additional 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.
  5. Stir in the sesame oil and chopped green onions. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.
