Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 400 grams
  • Korean chili pepper flakes (gochugaru) - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Ginger, minced - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions, chopped - 2 stalks
  • Vegetable oil - for grilling
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Lettuce leaves - for serving

Steps

  1. Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture. Cut the tofu into 1-inch cubes.
  2. In a bowl, mix the gochugaru, soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, and ginger to create the marinade.
  3. Add the tofu cubes to the marinade and gently toss to coat. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  4. Heat a non-stick grill pan or outdoor grill over medium-high heat. Lightly grease with vegetable oil.
  5. Place the marinated tofu cubes on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and slightly charred.
  6. Once cooked, remove the tofu from the grill and sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
  7. Serve hot with lettuce leaves for wrapping and enjoy it with steamed rice.
