Ingredients

  • Korean green chili peppers - 10 pieces
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Water - 100 ml
  • Toasted sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onion - 1 stalk, chopped

Steps

  1. Wash the Korean green chili peppers thoroughly and make a slit down the side of each pepper to allow the flavors to penetrate.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and water. Stir well to dissolve the sugar.
  3. Add the chili peppers to the saucepan and bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
  4. Once boiling, lower the heat to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes, allowing the peppers to soften and absorb the flavors.
  5. Remove the saucepan from heat and sprinkle toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions over the dish.
  6. Let it cool slightly before serving, and enjoy as a side dish with rice or any main Korean meal.
