- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes) - 1 teaspoon
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Cooking oil - for frying
Steps
- Wash the Cheongyang chili peppers and carefully slice them in half lengthwise, removing the seeds if you prefer less heat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, minced garlic, chopped green onion, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, black pepper, gochugaru, and chopped cilantro. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
- Stuff each half of the chili peppers with the chicken mixture, pressing down gently to ensure they are filled.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a little cooking oil.
- Place the stuffed peppers cut side down in the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Carefully flip the peppers over and cover the skillet, cooking for an additional 5-7 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked and the peppers are tender.
- Remove from heat, let cool slightly, and serve warm as an appetizer.
