- Cheddar cheese - 2 slices
- Burger buns - 2
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced

- Ketchup - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon (for garnish)
Steps
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and chopped green onion. Mix until well incorporated.
- Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form into burger patties.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to melt.
- While the burgers are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun, followed by lettuce, the cooked cheeseburger patty, a slice of tomato, and ketchup.
