- Chayote - 200 grams
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon, toasted
- Green onion - 1 tablespoon, finely chopped
- Water - 1 cup
Steps
- Wash the chayote thoroughly and cut it in half. Scoop out the seed and slice the flesh into thin strips.
- In a pot, bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Add the chayote strips and blanch them for about 3-4 minutes until slightly tender.
- Drain the chayote and transfer it to a mixing bowl. Allow it to cool for a few minutes.
- Add the minced garlic, sesame oil, soy sauce, and salt to the bowl with the chayote. Toss gently to combine.
- Sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onion on top. Mix well to ensure even distribution.
- Serve immediately or allow it to chill in the refrigerator for a more refreshing taste.
