Ingredients

  • Seitan - 200 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
  • Red bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
  • Broccoli - 100 grams, cut into florets
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Mushrooms (shiitake or button) - 100 grams, sliced
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 100 ml
  • Black sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Cilantro - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix the seitan with soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat a non-stick skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add the marinated seitan. Stir-fry for 5 minutes until slightly browned.
  3. Add the carrots, red bell pepper, broccoli, and mushrooms to the skillet. Stir-fry for another 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
  4. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Add it to the skillet and stir well, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Garnish with chopped green onions, black sesame seeds, and cilantro before serving.
