Ingredients

  • Glutinous rice - 150g
  • Water - 300ml
  • Coconut milk - 100ml
  • Maple syrup - 2 tablespoons
  • Mixed fruits (e.g., mango, kiwi, strawberries) - 200g, diced
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Chopped nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts) - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Drain the soaked rice and transfer it to a steamer basket lined with cheesecloth. Steam the rice over simmering water for about 30 minutes, or until cooked and tender.
  3. In a small saucepan, combine the coconut milk and maple syrup over low heat. Stir until warmed and well mixed, then remove from heat.
  4. Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a mixing bowl and gently fold in the coconut milk mixture until well combined.
  5. Divide the sticky rice into two serving bowls. Top each bowl with the diced mixed fruits, then sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped nuts over the top.
  6. Drizzle additional maple syrup if desired, and serve warm or at room temperature.
