Ingredients

  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2 stalks (chopped)
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (toasted)
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large (for wrapping)
  • Sliced cucumber - 100 grams
  • Kimchi - 100 grams (for serving)
  • Gochujang (Korean chili paste) - 1 tablespoon (for dipping)
  • Rice - 150 grams (cooked, for serving)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, sugar, black pepper, and chopped green onions to create the marinade.
  2. Add the thinly sliced beef brisket to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef slices in a single layer. Grill for about 2-3 minutes on each side until cooked through.
  4. While grilling, toast the sesame seeds in a small pan over low heat until golden brown. Set aside.
  5. Once the beef is cooked, remove it from the grill and let it rest for a minute before serving.
  6. To serve, arrange the grilled beef on a platter with lettuce leaves, sliced cucumbers, and kimchi. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top.
  7. Use the lettuce leaves to wrap the beef along with cucumber and kimchi, and serve with gochujang on the side for dipping.
