Ingredients
- Beef sirloin - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 4 tablespoons
- Brown sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
- Red pepper flakes - 1 teaspoon (optional)
- Rice wine - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Slice the beef sirloin into thin strips, about 0.5 cm thick, and place them in a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, chopped green onion, red pepper flakes (if using), and rice wine to create the marinade.
- Pour the marinade over the beef strips, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for deeper flavor.
- Preheat your oven to 70°C (160°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange the marinated beef strips in a single layer on the baking sheet, making sure they do not overlap.
- Place the baking sheet in the oven and let the beef dry for about 3-4 hours, or until it is dry and chewy but not brittle. Flip the strips halfway through the drying time for even results.
- Once done, remove the jerky from the oven and let it cool completely before storing it in an airtight container.
