Ingredients
- Ground beef (80% lean) - 300g
- Soy sauce - 30ml
- Brown sugar - 10g
- Sesame oil - 10ml
- Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
- Ginger (grated) - 1 tsp
- Black pepper - 1/2 tsp
- Green onion (chopped) - 2 stalks
- Burger buns - 2
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Tomato (sliced) - 1 medium
- Cucumber (sliced) - 1/2 medium
- Gochujang (Korean chili paste) - 1 tbsp
- Mayonnaise - 1 tbsp
- Sesame seeds (for garnish) - 1 tsp
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and chopped green onion. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
- Form the beef mixture into two equal patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each to help them cook evenly.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- While the burgers are cooking, prepare the sauce by mixing gochujang and mayonnaise in a small bowl. Adjust the spice level to your preference.
- Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the cooked patty, slices of tomato, cucumber, and a generous drizzle of the gochujang mayo sauce.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top for garnish, close the burgers with the top bun, and serve immediately.
