Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 250 grams
- Active dry yeast - 7 grams
- Sugar - 30 grams
- Salt - 5 grams
- Warm water - 150 ml
- Olive oil - 30 ml
- Beef (thinly sliced) - 200 grams
- Soy sauce - 45 ml
- Sesame oil - 10 ml
- Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
- Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
- Green onion (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Carrot (julienned) - 50 grams
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil; knead until a smooth dough forms.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- While the dough is rising, marinate the beef with soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, ginger, and chopped green onion for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the marinated beef until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Add the julienned carrot in the last minute of cooking.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 6 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball.
- Flatten each ball into a disk, place a spoonful of the bulgogi mixture in the center, and fold the edges over to seal. Shape into a bun.
- Place the buns seam-side down on a lined baking tray and cover them with a cloth. Let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake the buns for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and allow to cool slightly before serving.
