Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin, thinly sliced - 200 grams
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Ginger, minced - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onion, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Carrot, julienned - 1 small
  • Cooked jasmine rice - 1 cup (200 grams)
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and black pepper. Add the sliced beef and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  3. In a baking dish, spread the cooked jasmine rice evenly at the bottom.
  4. Layer the marinated beef over the rice, followed by the julienned carrot and chopped green onion.
  5. Crack the egg over the top, allowing it to spread slightly over the beef and vegetables.
  6. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and season with a pinch of salt if desired.
  7. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the beef is cooked through and the top is slightly golden.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with additional green onions if desired.
