Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 60 ml
  • Water - 120 ml
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Press the firm tofu for about 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1-inch cubes.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix soy sauce, water, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, sugar, and black pepper to create the braising sauce.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the tofu cubes, frying them until golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Pour the braising sauce over the browned tofu, then reduce the heat to low and cover the skillet.
  5. Let the tofu simmer in the sauce for 10-15 minutes, occasionally stirring gently to ensure even coating.
  6. Once the sauce has thickened slightly, remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
