Ingredients
- Beef brisket - 200 grams, thinly sliced
- Tteok (Korean rice cakes) - 200 grams
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
- Onion - 1 medium, sliced
- Gochujang (Korean chili paste) - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Water - 300 milliliters
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, for garnish
Steps
- In a pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat and add the sliced onion. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
- Add the minced garlic and sliced beef to the pot, cooking until the beef is browned.
- Stir in the gochujang, soy sauce, and sugar, mixing everything together well.
- Pour in the water and bring the mixture to a simmer, allowing it to cook for about 10 minutes.
- Add the tteok (rice cakes) to the pot, stirring gently to coat them in the sauce. Let it simmer for another 10-15 minutes until the tteok is heated through and the sauce has thickened.
- Finally, stir in the chopped green onions and cook for an additional minute.
- Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds.
