Ingredients

  • Mung bean sprouts - 200 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes) - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onion - 1, finely chopped
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste

Steps

  1. Rinse the mung bean sprouts under cold water and drain well.
  2. In a pot, bring water to a boil and add the mung bean sprouts. Blanch for 2-3 minutes until they are tender but still crunchy.
  3. Drain the blanched bean sprouts and rinse them under cold water to stop the cooking process. Squeeze out any excess water.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the minced garlic, sesame oil, soy sauce, gochugaru, and salt. Mix well.
  5. Add the drained mung bean sprouts to the bowl and toss to coat them evenly with the seasoning mixture.
  6. Transfer the seasoned sprouts to a serving dish and garnish with chopped green onion and sesame seeds.
  7. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 2 days for the flavors to meld.
