Ingredients
- Cooked short-grain rice - 1 cup
- Nori (seaweed sheets) - 2 sheets
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Rice vinegar - 1 teaspoon
- Carrot, finely grated - 1/4 cup
- Cucumber, finely diced - 1/4 cup
- Green onion, chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked rice, sesame oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar, grated carrot, diced cucumber, chopped green onion, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Cut the nori sheets into quarters.
- Wet your hands slightly to prevent sticking, take a small amount of the rice mixture (about 2 tablespoons), and form it into a ball.
- Place the rice ball in the center of a nori quarter, fold the nori over the rice ball, and gently press to seal it. Repeat with the remaining mixture and nori.
- Place the wrapped rice balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Sprinkle black sesame seeds on top of each rice ball.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the nori is crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
