- Pork belly - 500 grams
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Brown sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 160°C (320°F).
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, and black pepper to create the marinade.
- Score the skin of the pork belly in a crosshatch pattern, being careful not to cut into the meat.
- Place the pork belly in a baking dish and pour the marinade over it, ensuring it's well coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Once marinated, cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.
- After 1 hour, remove the foil and increase the oven temperature to 220°C (428°F).
- Bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
- Serve garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
