  • Brown sugar - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 160°C (320°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  3. Score the skin of the pork belly in a crosshatch pattern, being careful not to cut into the meat.
  4. Place the pork belly in a baking dish and pour the marinade over it, ensuring it's well coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  7. Bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  9. Serve garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
