Ingredients

  • Napa cabbage - 200 grams
  • Sea salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onion - 1 stalk, finely chopped
  • Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
  • Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon (optional)

Steps

  1. Rinse the Napa cabbage under cold water and cut it into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a mixing bowl, sprinkle the sea salt over the cabbage and massage it gently for about 2-3 minutes until it starts to wilt.
  3. Let the salted cabbage sit for 5 minutes to draw out excess moisture.
  4. After 5 minutes, rinse the cabbage thoroughly under cold water to remove excess salt, then drain well.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine minced garlic, sesame oil, chopped green onion, and red pepper flakes.
  6. Add the drained cabbage to the bowl and mix well to coat the cabbage evenly with the seasoning.
  7. If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds on top and toss again.
  8. Serve immediately or let it sit for 10 minutes at room temperature for the flavors to meld.
