- Silken tofu - 300 grams
- Dashi stock (Halal) - 500 ml
- Napa cabbage - 100 grams, chopped
- Shiitake mushrooms - 100 grams, sliced
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
- Soy sauce (Halal) - 2 tablespoons
- Mirin - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Chili oil (optional) - 1 teaspoon
- Fresh coriander - for garnish
Steps
- Prepare the dashi stock by heating it in a pot until simmering.
- While the broth is heating, cut the silken tofu into cubes and set aside.
- Once the dashi is simmering, add the chopped napa cabbage, sliced shiitake mushrooms, and julienned carrot to the pot.
- Let the vegetables simmer for about 5 minutes until they soften slightly.
- Carefully add the cubed silken tofu to the pot and allow it to heat through for another 5 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, mirin, and sesame oil to create a dipping sauce.
- Once everything is heated, ladle the hot pot into bowls and garnish with chopped green onions and fresh coriander.
- Serve immediately with the dipping sauce on the side, and drizzle with chili oil if desired.
