  • granulated sugar - 50 grams
  • water - 120 milliliters
  • cinnamon powder - 1 teaspoon
  • vanilla extract - 1/2 teaspoon
  • cornstarch - for dusting
  • walnuts (chopped) - 30 grams

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine glutinous rice flour, granulated sugar, cinnamon powder, and vanilla extract.
  2. Gradually add water to the dry ingredients while stirring until you achieve a smooth batter.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a non-stick saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and pulls away from the sides, about 10-15 minutes.
  4. Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool slightly.
  5. Once cool enough to handle, knead the mixture briefly until smooth. Divide it into small portions.
  6. Flatten each portion into a circle and sprinkle chopped walnuts in the center.
  7. Fold the edges over the filling to create a dumpling shape and pinch to seal.
  8. Dust each dumpling with cornstarch to prevent sticking.
  9. Serve at room temperature or slightly chilled.
