- Chicken thigh - 300 grams (boneless, skinless)
- Green onions - 2 stalks (cut into 5 cm pieces)
- Soy sauce - 60 ml
- Mirin - 30 ml
- Sake - 30 ml
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Wooden skewers - 4 (soaked in water for 30 minutes)
Steps
- Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, and sesame oil to create the marinade.
- Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated chicken and green onion pieces alternately onto the soaked skewers.
- Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally until the chicken is cooked through and slightly charred.
- Brush the remaining marinade over the skewers during the last few minutes of cooking for extra flavor.
- Remove from the grill and let rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
