- Ground beef (80% lean) - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 30 ml
- Mirin - 15 ml
- Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
- Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Burger buns - 2
- Teriyaki sauce - 30 ml
- Lettuce leaves - 4 leaves
- Tomato (sliced) - 1 medium
- Green onions (sliced) - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, soy sauce, mirin, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form into burger patties.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- While the burgers are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- Once the burgers are nearly done, brush each patty with teriyaki sauce and allow it to caramelize for about 1 minute.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a lettuce leaf, a burger patty, sliced tomato, green onions, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Top with the other half of the bun.
