Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 30 ml
  • Mirin - 30 ml
  • Sake - 30 ml
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Spring onions - 2, chopped
  • Bell pepper - 1, sliced
  • Zucchini - 1, sliced
  • Mushrooms - 100 grams, sliced
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Cooked rice - 200 grams, for serving

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, sake, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil to make the marinade.
  2. Cut the beef sirloin into thin strips and marinate in the mixture for at least 15 minutes.
  3. While the beef is marinating, prepare the vegetables by slicing the bell pepper, zucchini, and mushrooms.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Remove the beef from the marinade and grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side until cooked to your desired doneness.
  6. In the same grill pan, add the vegetables and grill for 5-7 minutes, or until they are tender and slightly charred.
  7. Once everything is cooked, season the beef and vegetables with salt and black pepper to taste.
  8. Serve the grilled beef and vegetables over cooked rice, garnished with chopped spring onions.
