Ingredients

  • Zuwai Gani (Snow Crab) - 400 grams, cleaned and prepared
  • Soy sauce - 30 ml
  • Mirin - 30 ml
  • Sake - 15 ml
  • Sesame oil - 10 ml
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Fresh ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Scallions - 2, chopped
  • Lemon - 1, cut into wedges
  • Toasted sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, sake, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create a marinade.
  2. Place the cleaned Zuwai Gani in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it, ensuring the crab is well coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat.
  4. Remove the crab from the marinade, reserving the marinade for later use. Place the crab on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until heated through and slightly charred.
  5. While the crab is grilling, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan and bring it to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Once the crab is done, remove it from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
  7. Serve the grilled Zuwai Gani topped with chopped scallions, a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds, and lemon wedges on the side. Drizzle with the thickened marinade for added flavor.
