Ingredients
- Firm tofu - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 30 ml
- Miso paste - 15 grams
- Mirin - 15 ml
- Sesame oil - 10 ml
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable oil - for grilling
- Assorted vegetables (bell peppers, zucchini, mushrooms) - 200 grams
Steps
- Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 2 equal steaks.
- In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, miso paste, mirin, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger to create the marinade.
- Place the tofu steaks in the marinade and let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- While the tofu is marinating, prepare the vegetables by cutting them into bite-sized pieces.
- Heat a non-stick grill pan or outdoor grill over medium heat and lightly coat it with vegetable oil.
- Remove the tofu from the marinade and dust both sides with cornstarch to create a crispy coating.
- Grill the tofu steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown and slightly charred.
- During the last few minutes of grilling, add the assorted vegetables to the grill and cook until they are tender and lightly charred.
- Serve the grilled tofu steaks hot, garnished with chopped green onions, alongside the grilled vegetables.
