Ingredients

  • Shiitake mushrooms - 200 grams
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Tamari sauce (gluten-free soy sauce) - 2 tablespoons
  • Mirin - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Fresh parsley - 1 tablespoon, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium heat.
  2. Clean the shiitake mushrooms with a damp cloth to remove any dirt, then remove the stems.
  3. In a bowl, combine the olive oil, tamari sauce, mirin, sesame oil, and minced garlic to create the marinade.
  4. Add the shiitake mushrooms to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for about 10 minutes.
  5. Place the marinated mushrooms on the grill, gill side down. Grill for about 5 minutes, then flip and grill for another 5 minutes or until they are tender and have nice grill marks.
  6. Remove the mushrooms from the grill and let them cool slightly before serving.
  7. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve warm as a side dish.
