Ingredients

  • Salmon fillets - 2 x 150g
  • Miso paste (white or yellow) - 2 tablespoons
  • Honey or maple syrup - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce (or coconut aminos for Paleo) - 1 tablespoon
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic (minced) - 1 clove
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions (sliced) - 2 for garnish
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon for garnish

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix the miso paste, honey or maple syrup, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create the marinade.
  2. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well coated.
  3. Cover and marinate the salmon in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes, or up to 1 hour for more flavor.
  4. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Remove the salmon from the marinade and discard the leftover marinade.
  6. Grill the salmon fillets for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the salmon is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
  7. Remove the salmon from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
  8. Serve the Yaki Miso Salmon garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
