Ingredients
- Firm tofu - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Maple syrup - 1 tablespoon
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons (for grilling)
- Mixed bell peppers - 1 cup, sliced
- Zucchini - 1 medium, sliced
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Green onions - 2, chopped
Steps
- Press the tofu for at least 15 minutes to remove excess water, then cut it into 1 cm thick slices.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create a marinade.
- Add the tofu slices to the marinade and let them soak for at least 10 minutes.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Once hot, lightly oil the grill with vegetable oil.
- Remove the tofu from the marinade and coat each slice with cornstarch to create a crispy layer.
- Place the tofu on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- While the tofu is grilling, toss the sliced bell peppers and zucchini in the remaining marinade and grill them for about 5-7 minutes until tender.
- Serve the grilled tofu topped with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, alongside the grilled vegetables.
