Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Maple syrup - 1 tablespoon
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons (for grilling)
  • Mixed bell peppers - 1 cup, sliced
  • Zucchini - 1 medium, sliced
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped

Steps

  1. Press the tofu for at least 15 minutes to remove excess water, then cut it into 1 cm thick slices.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create a marinade.
  3. Add the tofu slices to the marinade and let them soak for at least 10 minutes.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Once hot, lightly oil the grill with vegetable oil.
  5. Remove the tofu from the marinade and coat each slice with cornstarch to create a crispy layer.
  6. Place the tofu on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  7. While the tofu is grilling, toss the sliced bell peppers and zucchini in the remaining marinade and grill them for about 5-7 minutes until tender.
  8. Serve the grilled tofu topped with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, alongside the grilled vegetables.
