  • Squid (cleaned and cut into rings) - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce (low sodium) - 2 tablespoons
  • Mirin - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic (minced) - 1 clove
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions (sliced) - 2 tablespoons
  • Black sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon (for garnish) - 1 slice

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create a marinade.
  2. Add the cleaned squid rings to the marinade and let them soak for about 10 minutes.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the squid from the marinade and thread them onto skewers.
  5. Grill the squid skewers for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they turn opaque and have grill marks.
  6. Remove from the grill and sprinkle with sliced green onions and black sesame seeds.
  7. Serve immediately with a lemon slice on the side for garnish.
