- Cooked Japanese short-grain rice - 200 grams
- Carrot - 1 medium, diced
- Green peas - 50 grams
- Bell pepper (red or yellow) - 1/2, diced
- Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add minced garlic and grated ginger, and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the diced carrot and bell pepper to the skillet, cooking for 3-4 minutes until they begin to soften.
- Stir in the green peas and continue to cook for another 2 minutes.
- Add the cooked rice to the skillet, breaking up any clumps with a spatula.
- Pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil, mixing well to combine all ingredients.
- Add the chopped green onion, and season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently until the rice is heated through and slightly crispy.
- Remove from heat and serve hot, garnished with extra green onion if desired.
