Ingredients
- Firm tofu - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Mirin - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Green onions - 2, sliced
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted
- Mixed bell peppers - 150 grams, sliced
- Shiitake mushrooms - 100 grams, sliced
- Spinach - 100 grams
Steps
- Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1-inch cubes.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger to create a marinade. Add the tofu cubes and let them marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- After marinating, sprinkle cornstarch over the tofu cubes and toss gently to coat.
- In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the tofu cubes and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced bell peppers and shiitake mushrooms, cooking for 3-4 minutes until tender. Add the spinach and cook until wilted.
- Return the tofu to the skillet, tossing everything together to combine. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
