- Firm tofu - 200 grams
- Potato starch - 50 grams
- Carrot - 50 grams, grated
- Green onion - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Nori seaweed - 1 sheet, finely chopped
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Water - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess water, then crumble it into a large mixing bowl.
- Add the grated carrot, chopped green onion, chopped nori, potato starch, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, black pepper, and water to the bowl with tofu.
- Mix all the ingredients until well combined, ensuring the mixture is sticky and holds together.
- Shape the mixture into oval cakes, about 2 cm thick.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a splash of oil.
- Cook the satsuma-age cakes for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown and firm.
- Remove from the skillet and let them cool slightly before serving.
