- Water - 150 ml
- Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
Steps
- Cut the tuna steak into bite-sized cubes and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, combine soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, and water. Stir well and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Add the grated ginger and tuna cubes to the saucepan, gently stirring to coat the tuna in the sauce.
- Reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan. Let the tuna simmer for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the tuna is cooked through and tender.
- Remove the lid and increase the heat to medium-high to let the sauce reduce slightly, about 5 minutes.
- Drizzle sesame oil over the tuna and give it a final stir. Season with salt to taste.
- Serve the Tuna no Nitsuke hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
