Ingredients

  • Ground chicken - 250 grams
  • Green onion - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Mirin - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
  • Egg - 1, lightly beaten
  • Tare sauce (store-bought or homemade) - for serving

Steps

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, green onion, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, salt, pepper, cornstarch, and beaten egg.
  2. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined and sticky.
  3. Wet your hands and form the mixture into small meatballs, about 4-5 cm in diameter, until all the mixture is used.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly oil it to prevent sticking.
  5. Grill the meatballs for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until cooked through and nicely charred.
  6. Serve warm with tare sauce drizzled over the top or on the side for dipping.
