Ingredients
- Chicken thighs, skin-on - 400 grams
- Soy sauce - 30 ml
- Sake - 15 ml
- Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
- Ginger, minced - 1 teaspoon
- Xanthan gum - 1 teaspoon
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Almond flour - 50 grams
- Avocado oil (for frying) - 500 ml
Steps
- Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces and place them in a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, combine soy sauce, sake, minced garlic, minced ginger, xanthan gum, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
- Pour the marinade over the chicken pieces and mix well. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
- In a shallow dish, spread the almond flour evenly.
- Heat avocado oil in a deep skillet or fryer over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).
- Take the marinated chicken pieces and coat them lightly in almond flour, shaking off any excess.
- Carefully place the coated chicken pieces into the hot oil and fry in batches for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the fried chicken from the oil and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot with a sprinkle of salt and your choice of low-carb dipping sauce.
