- All-purpose flour - 1/2 cup
- Egg - 1 large
- Panko breadcrumbs - 1 cup
- Vegetable oil - 1/4 cup (for frying)
- Pizza dough - 1 pre-made or homemade (about 250 grams)
- Shredded mozzarella cheese - 100 grams
- Tonkatsu sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Green onions - 1 tablespoon (chopped)
- Nori (seaweed) - 1 sheet (cut into strips) for garnish
Steps
- 1. Season the pork loin chop with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- 2. Set up a breading station: place flour in one shallow dish, beaten egg in another, and panko breadcrumbs in a third.
- 3. Dredge the pork in flour, dip it in the egg, and then coat it thoroughly with panko breadcrumbs.
- 4. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat, and once hot, carefully add the breaded pork. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 5. Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F). Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to fit a pizza stone or baking sheet.
- 6. Spread a thin layer of tonkatsu sauce over the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- 7. Place the fried tonkatsu on top of the sauce, then sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the pork.
- 8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is bubbling and slightly golden.
- 9. Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped green onions and nori strips, then slice and serve hot.
